“Tech 25 Live Sound Apprentice Program”
LIVE SOUND 1 -- CERTIFICATION TRAINING
Have you imagined working as a live sound or lighting technician? Apply now for the Live Sound Apprentice Program starting this July! Program participants will receive HEARcorp’s “Live Sound 1” Certificate upon completion of this 4-week intensive apprenticeship. Get hands-on experience during the Music On The Mon Concert Series at the Southside Works. Work with industry professionals and receive 40+ hours of technical training in our facility and at actual events. You will leave this apprenticeship feeling confident in running a small concert with basic audio equipment.
Limited space available! Only accepting 8 Applicants per session (12-16 students total)
25 Carrick Ave Project’s mission is to provide educational programming and access to entry-level jobs in the event technology industry. Aligned with our corporate partner Hearcorp (a high end event technology company), we prepare students and provide career opportunities in the production and commercial broadcast industry through workshops, hands-on mentoring, and apprenticeships with onsite and local professional productions.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Learn the basics of Live Sound and Lighting
Hands-on training alongside professional audio technicians
Train at the "Music On the Mon" Concert Series located at Southside Works
Learn to setup a small PA system and run a concert with basic lighting equipment
Team-building Activities to develop Leadership skills
Create a student-run community showcase event
Details:
$500 PAID program for those age 17+ who complete the program
4 week intensive training course with outdoor distanced events
WHERE: 25 Carrick Ave Pittsburgh, PA 15210 and onsite at Southside Works
ELIGIBILITY:
No experience necessary but must have a strong work ethic
Complete online application and participate in an interview
Commit to attending all in person training sessions and events
DATES: July Session and August Session
Wednesdays 10am - 2pm
Thursday 10am - 2pm
Friday or Saturday 4pm - 8pm
REQUIREMENTS
Attend 48 hours of training
Test proficiency in Live Sound Basics upon completion of the program
Ability to lift 30 lbs during load in/load out and stand outdoors for 4-5 hours at a time.
